Oh how I love Japan! - Ennichisai Matsuri

Taking Japanese literature major, I've seen so many different kinds of reaction because of what I chose to study. Here in Indonesia, people tend to see Arts and Literature major as a "Easy-you-dont-have-to-go-to-college-to-study-that" kind of major. How about your country? Is it the same or what? Feel free to share with me! :*
But there's also people who incredibly amazed knowing that I take Japanese literature major, and I really really respect that :')

Japan? Talking about this country, you don't forget their cultural festival called Matsuri. Like Balinese people, Japanese people have so many kinds of matsuri, even in every shrine/city/region, the matsuri is different. Japanese people in Jakarta are also held matsuri every year. I've been volunteered in some matsuri in Jakarta, one of em is called "Ennichisai Matsuri" or Little Tokyo at Blok M Square.

The traditional clothes called Happi. I look like a child! Lols

With one of my best friend, Anti. We're lifting a portable shrine called Mikoshi, and its super heavy!

The Giant Omikoshi. Of course the man lift this, its 3times heavier than woman's!

We had fun and be able to communicate with Japanese people in Indonesia. It was so much fun!
That's me at Ennichisai Matsuri 2011, volunteered as a Omikoshi lifter. This year, another Ennichisai Matsuri was held at 30 June-1 July 2012. I was going to volunteering again, but then my friend offered me a great job as a Japanese interpreter (which is also for Ennichisai Matsuri), so I picked the job, lols!
Oh how I love what I do. Will talk to you soon about another festivals!

Kiss from IndonesiaXOXO
Ayu
